Michele Bauman for Supervisor
Michele Bauman has a well established history of commitment to our community that is well reflected in her professional, personal and governmental service.
Michele became an Avon Township Trustee in 2017 and has since been an outspoken critic of corruption and waste. She is leading the charge to clean up how Avon Township is run, seeking to bring transparency and full access. Michele has consistently been a strong advocate for every person in our community by working for a sensible budget, standing against tax increases and providing excellent services for our community.
Her professional career is in real estate where meeting the needs of clients is her core principle. Owning a small business also gives her a direct understanding of the economic challenges small businesses and families face. She faces those challenges together with all of us.
Knowing the value and importance of education, Michele also works a substitute teacher in the Round Lake Area School District and is an active volunteer in her daughter’s school.
Michele has long been active in volunteering here in our community. She served as Cub Master of Pack 91. As “District Popcorn Kernel,” she developed a uniquely effective team effort for the scout’s popcorn sales effort. Pack 91 led in all of northern Illinois resulting in the pack winning $10k. During her tenure in the scouts, Michele served on numerous committees including membership, fundraising, “scouting for food”, activities and served as Cub Master. Michele is also a board member of the Grayslake Exchange Club and served as Director of the Avon Cares Food Pantry from May 2017 to June 2018.
Michele earned her BA at Arizona State University. She is a 22 year Grayslake resident with her husband Jeff, where they are raising two sons and a daughter. Their two youngest attend high school in Grayslake.
