Jeanne Kearby for Trustee
Jeanne has been a resident in Avon Township for over 50 years and raised her four boys in this same community. She sincerely appreciates her service as Clerk for Avon Township for almost eight years. Her commitment to the Avon Community takes many paths. She believes in political engagement, the education of our children and service to our community.
Her commitment to her community extends much further than my currently elected position. She is passionate about her work with League of Women Voters Northwest Lake County. Her commitment to engage citizens in the democratic process and help voters find non-partisan information on political issues and candidates is at the center of her work. She is honored to serve as president of our local League and enjoys organizing and hosting debates, public forums and voter registration drives.
In addition to her citizen engagement work, she serves as Chair of B.E.S.T. Kindergarten Readiness Committee encouraging the education and support of children from birth to four. Jeanne also believes in service to our community and serves on the Board of Directors for Exchange Club helping with the four pillars of service in our community. These organizations help her serve the community in many ways and keep her grounded and positive.
For Jeanne – Service is also the key to her career path. She started as a Library Aide in the Round Lake Area School District which highlighted her love for helping people learn. Going back to college, lead her to advanced degrees and completing her Doctorate in Education Leadership. She served as an elementary and middle school teacher and High School Administrator for Round Lake Area School District 116. She also served as a school board member for the Grayslake High School Dist. 127 for almost eight years. She retired from Waukegan Public School District 60 as Executive Director for Pre-k – High School Academic Program.
She is hoping to continue her work with Avon Township as Trustee with your vote. Her commitment is to assist our residents in finding necessary services and navigating State and local services to improve quality of life, which is the focus of Jeanne’s service.
